A brief review of a wonderful conference—CRS Sell-a-bration, 2004!
For those of you who missed it, a few notes…
David Knox was in rare form with his dynamic presentation on Expireds
and FSBOs. Even though the entire audience knew most of his “tips,” it
is always good to hear them again, from such an entertaining professional
speaker.
David reminded the Realtors that 80% of FSBOs eventually use a Realtor.
The Realtor who gets the listing is the one who has built a “relationship”
and shows his willingness to be there—just “show up!” And, leave behind
“Tips for Selling Your Home.” His theory is this: “My gosh, if this Realtor
is working this hard, and does not have my listing, what can I expect
when he/she does?
And, he advises just stopping by in the neighborhood to see how things
are going, NOT trying to sign them up after the first two weeks. David
Knox says that the stats show that most FSBOs are ready to list after
8-10 weeks—of paying for those newspaper ads, getting the house cleaned
up and ready, and staying home for 8 weekends in a row, rather than enjoying
their hobbies and families.
So, if you have not explored the wonderful world of FSBOs and Expireds,
now might be the time, if your market is slim on listing inventory. Show
up and Be There! Chief reason for getting the Listing: consistent follow-up
system.
He has videos and DVDs on Pricing Your Home To Sell, Preparing Your Home
To Sell, Selling by Owner, Expired Listing, and 8 Steps to Buying a Home.

Howard Brinton, CEO and Founder of StarPowerSystems set the stage for
Success and All That Jazz with the opening general session. Howard's enthusiasm
for life, his love of people, and the desire to help them get to the next
level is contagious! Talk about an individual who “shows up” as his authentic
“self”, that is Howard Brinton!
He introduced the importance of the Wheel in creating balance in your
life and inviting participants to review their level of satisfaction in
areas of Financial (Business, Retirement, Wealth), Personal (Health, Well-Being,
Recreation) Relationships (Connections, Family, Friends), and Balance
(Happiness, Spirituality). He also highlighted the importance of Clarity—Alignment—Action
in helping individuals achieve the best within themselves. And, highlighting
the importance of living and aligning their actions with their core value
system.
Most successful people often find themselves so busy “doing” that they
forget to just “be” in the moment and enjoy what they have, and what they
have achieved. And, to suspend judgment and Thrive in Curiosity. Howard
Brinton is a lifelong learner, and he inspires others to be!
Howard introduced the panelists of CRS instructors and Star Power Stars
who participated in a number of Break-Out Sessions—from The Art of Handling
Objections, to Introduction to D I S C Personality Types, Web Sites as
Profit Centers, Office of the Future, and Small Teams Generating Big Profits.
I was delighted to be on the Small Teams panel and enjoyed the audience
questions re: team building. It was a varied group at both sessions, from
a one-person operation wanting to go lightly into the team concept or
a small team wanting to make more fall to the bottom line. And, discovering
that you can build wealth and success without a mega-approach!

From the new Pre-Listing Books That Work! And the Buyer Books That Work!—also
check out the schedule for the University Courses on Team Training, Buyer
Specialization, and Business Specialization, Coaching Programs, and of
course, the Annual Star Power Conference which will be in San Antonio
in July!
The biggest WIN, in my opinion, were the attendees who chose to take the
time and invest in their business. I observed lots of notetaking, lots
of questions, lots of networking, and lots of smiles. A huge congratulations
to The Council of Residential Specialists and the CRS instructors for
a wonderful educational conference (check out the details for next years'
in Las Vegas!) (http://www.crs.com/)
Accolades to Howard Brinton and his Star Power Team, Amy Stoehr and the
group of Stars who participated in the break-out sessions, David Knox
(see remarks above) and Chris Bird, who presented The New Rules of Tax
and Finance in Friday's General Session.
For me, personally, I appreciate the opportunity to visit with so many
old friends, and meet new ones. It is great to network with the top echelon
of Realtors, and a great source of both ideas and referrals. “A good time
had by all!” And, don't forget to send your referrals to me, check out
